Move the Check from the Bottom to the Top of the Super Stub Deluxe Check Layout (BC)
The Super Stub Deluxe check layout displays the remittance stub first and the check at the bottom of the page.
If you need the check to print at the top of the page instead, you can modify the RDLC report layout in Microsoft Report Builder. This involves changing the row visibility expressions so the check prints first and the stub sections print afterward.
Before You Begin
You will need:
* Access to Report Layouts in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
* Microsoft Report Builder installed.
* Permission to create and assign a report layout.
* The Super Stub Deluxe layout currently used for check printing.
Consider retaining the existing layout so you can return to the original format if needed.
Export the Existing Check Layout
1. In Business Central, search for Report Layouts.
2. Locate the Super Stub Deluxe check layout currently in use.
3. Export the layout.
4. Open the exported layout in Microsoft Report Builder.
Change the Check to Print First
The Super Stub Deluxe layout uses row visibility expressions to control which portion of the report prints first.
1. In Report Builder, locate the section containing the check row.
2. Select the check row.
3. Open Row Properties and select Visibility.
4. Review the expression used to show or hide the row.
5. Change the expression so the check displays in Part 1 instead of Part 2.
6. Select OK.
Change the Stub Sections to Print Second
Next, update the remaining applicable rows so the stub information prints after the check.
1. Select a stub row.
2. Open Row Properties and select Visibility.
3. Change the visibility expression from Part 1 to Part 2.
4. Select OK.
5. Repeat these steps for each applicable stub row.
In other words, reverse the existing Part 1 and Part 2 visibility settings:
Change the check section from 2 to 1.
Change the applicable stub sections from 1 to 2.
6. When finished, save the modified RDLC file.
Create the New Report Layout
1. Return to Report Layouts in Business Central.
2. Create a new report layout.
3. Enter a descriptive name for the new layout, such as Super Stub Deluxe - Check First.
4. Set the layout type to RDLC.
5. Browse to and select the RDLC file you modified in Report Builder.
6. Complete the creation of the new layout.
Creating a separate layout allows you to retain the original Super Stub Deluxe layout while testing the modified version.
Assign the Layout to the Bank Account
The new layout must be assigned to the bank account before it will be used for check printing.
1. Open the applicable Bank Account Card.
2. Locate the check layout setting.
3. Select the new Super Stub Deluxe - Check First layout.
4. Save your changes.
Test the New Check Layout
Before using the layout for production checks, print a test check.
1. Open the Payment Journal.
2. Create or use a test payment journal line.
3. Select the vendor and invoice you want to use for testing.
4. Confirm that Bank Payment Type is set to Computer Check.
5. Confirm that the correct bank account is selected.
6. Print the check.
7. Review the output and confirm that:
a. The check prints at the top of the page.
b. The stub information prints after the check.
c. The check and remittance information are positioned correctly.
If the output is correct, the new layout is ready to use.
