I need to print sample checks with "VOID"
See the following for instruction on printing sample checks with" VOID", if for example the customer's bank requires voided checks with the MICR region. Note, while the checkbook setup includes VOID in the non-negotiable field, this field will only print for check copies. The MICR line region is designed to be omitted on check copies as they are intended to be non-negotiable.
1. Go to the Mekorma Area Page>Setup>Purchasing>Checkbook Setup.
2. At the Mekorma Checkbook setup window, select the Primary Check Format to launch the Mekorma configurator and edit the check format. Choose 'save as' to create a unique format and use the new format to generate the sample check(s) at print time.
3. From Configurator, choose Add Elements>Add Label.
4. Close the Add Elements window
5. With the Label field highlighted (blue- upper right corner of the margin), at the left Property Pane, click on the field value, “Label”
6. Enter the text of your preference (e.g. “Void”)
7. Click on the Font value to alter the size and font properties as needed.
8. Drag the label to the check region for placement.
9. Save
10. Use this modified stub format when printing the sample checks.
A note about sample checks and bank verification:
Once you have confirmed proper setup and printing of Mekorma checks using for example a MICR line gauge for alignment, we would encourage you to process a live checks to pay a small number of vendors to ensure payment clearance before proceeding to large scale check processing. In most cases we have seen involving bank rejections, even though proper alignment and configuration is achieved, when our clients submit checks to their bank for testing, we have reason to believe the bank employs testing methods that exceed the scanning methods the bank applies to live checks. Choosing to send sample checks to the bank for testing can take weeks or months to achieve clearance. Therefore after having setup your blank check stock printing in-house, we encourage standard usage perhaps limited to a small number of payments as a way of testing for clearance by the bank. Send us an email if you need a MICR line gauge and we'll ship one to you: sales@mekorma.com
